Intrauterine Insemination

Intrauterine Insemination, also known as IUI, is a fertility procedure conducted at Ohio Reproductive Medicine.  With this procedure, sperm are placed inside the uterus to better regulate fertilization.  Since the eggs are not manipulated in any way, this procedure is not considered to be associated with assisted reproductive technology (ART).

The goal of IUI is to increase the amount of sperm that are able to reach the fallopian tubes.  With more sperm able to reach this area, the chances of fertilization can become increased.  The intrauterine insemination procedure is typically used by individuals and couples who have attempted to conceive for a year but have been unsuccessful.  In addition, IUI can help patients with cases of:

  • Low Sperm Count
  • Sperm With Decreased Mobility
  • Cervical Conditions
  • Ejaculation Dysfunction Disorders
  • Cervical Scarring
  • Infertility Issues

Sperm Donation

Sperm donation allows for sperm to be donated for methods of artificial insemination.

Sperm donation is typically used in cases of the following to increase chances of conception for:

  • Couples Suffering From Male Infertility
  • Single Women
  • Lesbian Couples
