Ohio Reproductive Medicine is a group practice specializing
in all aspects of infertility care, including diagnostic
evaluation, ovulation induction with clomiphene and
gonadotropins, artificial insemination using husband/partner/donor
(known or anonymous) sperm, and the most advanced
“hi-tech” treatment modalities.
We also offer advanced surgical treatments for infertility,
including microsurgical reversal of tubal sterilization,
minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, and evaluation
and treatment of endometriosis, pelvic pain, and hormonal
disorders of women.
We are the largest Central Ohio provider of Assisted
Reproductive Technologies (ART), including in vitro
fertilization (IVF), gamete intrafallopian transfer
(GIFT), and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Infertility and the involved testing and treatment
can be stressful and emotionally taxing. Ohio Reproductive
Medicine realizes this and offers certain services
to help you through this difficult time.
We have experienced infertility counselors available
for you and encourage you to use their services. For
some treatments, counseling is required.
Eggs obtained after gonadotropin stimulation and follicle
aspiration from an anonymous or know individual. Typically
used to address insufficient egg production or the
lack of egg production in the intended mother.
Placement of sperm from an anonymous or known individual
into the uterus of a women who is not married to the
sperm donor. Typically, sperm is extensively screened
for sexually transmitted diseases and stored frozen.
Commonly used for severe male factor infertility.
Embryos stored in a frozen state for future use. (Liquid
nitrogen is used to freeze the embryos.) Excess embryos
from IVF typically are frozen at the 2 pronuclear
stage (sperm and egg nuclei are not yet joined) or
the blastocyst stage (day 5 or 6 of development).
Removal of one or two cells from an embryo for rapid
analysis to avoid placing an embryo carrying a known
genetic disease (e.g., muscular dystrophy, cystic
fibrosis, sickle cell, Tay-Sachs) or a chromosomal
abnormality (e.g., Down syndrome) within the uterus.
The egg retrieval process, while a quick procedure,
may entail some discomfort. Ohio Reproductive Medicine
has your well-being in mind by providing narcotic
medication and a lidocaine local anesthetic. Patients
undergoing hypnotherapy will use conscious and subconscious
relaxation techniques and suggestions, adding to their
tools of managing the discomfort of the procedure.
Reproductive Diagnostics, Inc.* offers a wide range
of andrology testing, sperm and embryo banking, and
assisted reproductive technologies, including ICSI

born from ICSI in Ohio. RDI has a successful frozen
embryo transfer program and has consistently achieved
above average pregnancy rates from assisted reproductive
technologies. RDI also cooperates with area urologists
by cryopreserving testicular biopsy and epididymal
aspirates to be used in future ICSI procedures.
